I love this thing. Ok I’ll admit the first thing I did was replace the NcStar red dot with a BARSKA Red Dot. The NcStar red dot is ok and I put it on a older crossbow I let friends use for target practice. I had the Panzer assembled and sighted in within 30 minutes. It’s light weight, but has plenty of impact with the 18″ aluminum bolts. Turkey season opens in 10 days. That will be the real test, but I think the turkeys are in trouble.

I am very impressed with this crossbow. Having had Hortons, Excaliburs and other high end Barnetts I can say the build quality is right there with the best of ‘em. A few things they don’t mention – the prod (bow) itself is encased in a rubbery skin to protect and quiet it and the foot stirrup has a beefy over molding of rubber not shown in the pictures.

The trigger breaks clean and feels just like the one in my Ghost 400 – without the Anti Dry Fire protection. It’s very light overall and actually quite narrow for a recurve – only 2″ wider than the Ghost. The red dot sight shown is an option it seems like everybody gets a different one. Mine came with a $9.00 NCStar – so plan on getting a decent sight/scope for yours $30 – $40 bucks should do it for a common 7/8″ Weaver style mounted unit. It comes with 4 Barnett arrows but if you get an extra pack of those they’ll most likely match. They all come with field points (most other brands don’t). The quiver once installed is as solid as the rest of the unit and holds 4 arrows.

The sound when shooting is a nice clean thud with no rattles or ringing and it’s really quiet for a recurve crossbow – probably around 80Db. This bow is perfectly adequate for hunting anything in North America and honestly I don’t know why it doesn’t get more attention. I shoot mine every day. You will too.
