This crossbow is very fast. After using a compound for 25 years, it will take some getting use to . It would be in your best interest to get a crossbow target made for crossbows. I shot the Block target at 20 yards. It blew through it like a piece of cardboard and into a round bale of hay and gone. Needless to say we did it again. Lost two bolts in 5 minutes.Wow, this this is smokin fast, not much noise. Off to buy more bolts tomorrow and a target I can actually shoot and recover my bolts out of. We will feed the cows and get my bolts back soon. I cannot wait to hunt with this!

Actually feels lighter than I thought it would. Well balanced. Easy assembly. Can’t wait to sight in. The scope is very clear and I like the two color LED red or green or no lighted dots.

This thing is awesome! It’s light compared to other crossbows, which is a reason I decided to spend a little more and purchase this one! The profile of it is small and really compact when it’s cocked which makes it easy to maneuver around in a ground blind or up in the treestand! I love the 3.5lb trigger pull. It shoots like a gun! The scope it comes with is illuminated (regular black, red, or green) which makes it possible to see just after dawn or at dusk! The rope cocker it comes with is a must for crossbows with this much pull weight. It cuts the poundage in 1/2 ! It came with 3 arrows but I’ve already knocked 2 of them!

My only complaints would be I’m splitting too many of my arrows and that the sight rail deviates a little to the left when I am looking down it or the scope. I actually sent my crossbow back to Barnett and they sent me another one back within a week! Their customer service was FIRST CLASS! The second one I received was exactly the same way! But I was able to sight in the crossbow without any problems! I wonder if all BCX’s are like this?? Hands down, this crossbow is an amazing piece of Barnett engineering! I hunted with a compound bow for 9 yrs with only moderate success. Now, I’ve went to the DARKSIDE and I’m not coming BACK! DINNER’S ON THE TABLE!

Pluses are weight, speed, size and accuracy. It is light and very easy to handle in a blind or in a tree stand because of it’s size. The first crosshair in the scope is for 0-25 yards, second 35 yards, third 45 yards and fourth fifty yards. Not a five star to me only because some accessories such as the bracket for the quiver are too fragile. That bracket broke the first time I let the crossbow down with my string. I attached the quiver directly to the bow without the bracket because I don’t remove the quiver. I already harvested a large doe at 27 yards and am very happy with it.
